Security Shift Officer

Reporting to the Site Security Manager, the incumbent will work in a team environment and be responsible for the protection of Company and Customer assets and to initiate and implement appropriate security measures, policies and procedures. The ideal candidate has a positive attitude, is highly motivated, results oriented, tenacious and able to multi task.

Job Responsibilities:

•Controls personnel traffic in and out of the plant.
•Controls all vehicular traffic into the secure compound area by checking for proper ID and the contents of the trucks.
•Controls and operates secure compound gates from the security office.
•Conducts body and package search of personnel leaving areas of high value by monitoring x-ray and using a hand-held metal detector.
•Monitors all CCTV cameras and alarm systems in control center.
•Installs and removes security seals on doors as required.
•Takes pictures of all employee ID cards and personnel file.
•Makes patrol checking for locked doors, unsecured metals, unsecured confidential documents and any other security or fire violations.
•Acts as escort for contractors
•Maintains key control system.
•Maintains daily logs and forms.
•Issues security violations when warranted.

Qualifications:

•A degree or diploma focusing on criminal justice, criminology and/or a minimum of 3 - 5 years relevant experience working in a high security environment.
•Valid Security Guard License
•Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends and holidays (including 12 and 8 hour shifts)
•Surveillance training/experience in a production environment.
•Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office and Security Technology software
•Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience working in a manufacturing environment, either in a Security role or in another capacity.
•Preference will be given to candidates with experience in personal searches using a hand held metal detector and baggage x-ray machine.
