POSITION SUMMARY:
To act as the technical lead on all physical security hardware implementations, designs, configurations, and maintenance.
Security System Incident and Change Management - Anything causing down-time of security systems
Unplanned and planned maintenance - could result in impact to security mission critical systems
Responsible for ensuring security system is online - 24/7
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Change and Incident Management
The incumbent is responsible for various physical security system projects and programs, such as Hardware and Asset Tracking. The incumbent will implement/utilize Remedy to tag physical security hardware such as video recorders, switches, PCs, card reader controllers, intercom controllers, etc. Remedy will also be used to track/log hardware maintenance, issues, troubleshooting, etc.
The incumbent configures, designs, implements, and maintains global physical security system deployments (for new and existing buildings)
The incumbent is responsible for the configuration of RIM security system hardware in the SMS software (delegating to vendors, technicians, and programmers)
The incumbent works with external vendors and acts as a primary contact on new physical security system installations (signing off on completed work, performing audits to ensure system meets RIM standards, etc)
The incumbent deploys security system hardware - such as cameras, card readers, and intercoms
When a building's physical security system is converted or upgraded, the incumbent manages and oversees physical design and ensures compliance with all local codes and standards
The incumbent responds to employee email requests pertaining to new/reconfigured security system hardware (such as card readers, cameras, etc)
The incumbent works with all levels of the organization (in varying time zones and locations) to troubleshoot and resolve system hardware issues
The incumbent has access to highly sensitive security data - all actions must be dedicated to the preservation and safeguarding of company assets and intellectual property
The incumbent documents processes and designs, shares with his/her team, and attempts to standardize
The incumbent leads a medium sized team of Physical Security System Technicians/Engineers/Specialists with day-to-day operations. He/she will also define departmental roles and help build the team by assisting with hiring/staffing
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
College Diploma / University Degree or equivalent experience
5+ years experience designing, installing, and provisioning corporate enterprise-wide security systems
3+ years of experience leading teams
Experience working with after-hours security incidents in different countries/time zones
Experience working with Lenel and Keyscan Hardware and Software
Experience working with Security Cameras (Pelco, Bosch) and Intercom Systems (Stentophone)
Proficient with MS Office, MS Word and MS Outlook
Proficient with AutoCad (v.7 and up)
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
Ability to communicate professionally - both verbal and written
Ability to troubleshoot security system hardware issues
Ability to work within a team as well as independently
Ability to create process documentation
Ability to navigate through new and unique security scenarios with strong focus on safeguarding information
MEMBERSHIPS AND CERTIFICATIONS (Preferred):
American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) membership
Physical Security Professional (PSP) ASIS Certification
Security Management Certification
